With a focus on large-scale production pipelines and computer graphics technologies, he enjoys helping to empower the creatives, artists, and animators to continue to push the boundaries of graphics in entertainment.Īfter graduating Savannah College of Art and Design with a degree in computer graphics, he worked in feature film visual effects for movies such as the early X-Men films, theme park attractions including Universal Studio’s Amazing Spiderman 3D attraction and The Mummy, as well as various commercials, animated Christmas specials, and other forms of software-rendered entertainment. He currently serves as Computer Graphics Supervisor for Electronic Arts in Orlando Florida.

Kevin has worked in computer graphics in film, theme parks, television and interactive entertainment for 25 years. He is excited to continually grow a talented team on the north shore and sea-to-sky corridor. Some of his most notable credits include: The Hobbit Trilogy, Warcraft, Thor 2, Life of Pi, Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon, Tron: Legacy, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Ironman and Frank Miller’s: 300.Ĭhris has conducted lectures for the VES, SIGGRAPH, and the Art Institute, been published by Digital Fusion on the topic of Digital Compositing, published by SIGGRAPH on the film industry in Vancouver and has taught Digital Compositing for over 7 years at the following schools: VanArts, Think Tank and Lost Boys. With over 15 years of experience, he brings experience from some of the top studios around the world: WETA Digital, Industrial Light & Magic, Method, Rising Sun Pictures, Animal Logic, MPC, The Embassy and Prime Focus. His latest contributions include Kathryn Bigelow’s Detroit and Lost in Space.ĬVD VFX founder, Chris van Dyck is a Vancouver-based VFX Artist & Supervisor in the commercial, film, and television industry. His career continues to grow as he takes on exciting challenges as Visual Effects Supervisor. Joao relocated to Canada and contributed to projects such as 300, Avatar, The Twilight Saga, Ender’s Game and The Amazing Spider-Man 2. In 2006 he changed paths and moved into the feature film industry. The industry’s fast pace shaped Joao’s artistic and technical skills, and instilled a deep understanding of the post-production process. Over the following years Joao worked at some of Brazil’s top post-production companies on commercial projects for clients like GM, Coca-Cola and Santander. He started out as a 3D generalist in his home country of Brazil, and in 2002 was hired as a Flame Artist. Joao’s skillset comes from a long and varied career, which commenced in the late 90s. Having joined the studio in 2012, Joao initially contributed his expertise to RIPD, Lone Survivor and Chappie, before he stepped up as a compositing supervisor for San Andreas and Jurassic World.
